Year 6 - Homefront day
Last Thursday, Year 6 were put through their paces by an ARP (Air Raid Precaution) Warden, learning the importance of putting on a gas mask quickly and keeping safe around unexploded bombs. They gained useful insight into life during the war and understanding that 'Careless talk costs lives'. In the afternoon, they became evacuees and walked to Hersham Train Station to wait for the train to take them to safety in Devon. This was combined with rail safety training to support their transition to Secondary School.
